Knowledge Management (KM) system is recognized as a tool for helping community of practice (CoP) such as the enforcement parties, the related producers or manufacturers, as well as the customers or users in capturing, storing, disseminating, and applying knowledge for their benefits in a collaborative environment. While, halal is an object or an action of the industry which is identified by applying Islamic knowledge in ensuring the goods as a product and the services are working based on the Islamic rules and according to sharia practice in the CoP daily life. In this context, there is a lack of the existing of Collaborative KM (CKM) as a system model of the CoP to facilitate halal practitioners as a standard mechanism to share knowledge especially that is related to promote the best practice or lesson learnt for the CoP’s purposes. Therefore, there is a need of a special mechanism in terms of CKM system (CKMS)model on how to manage halal knowledge as a system called CKMS application towards quality of services (QoS) based on its KM processes which are starting from knowledge acquisition, knowledge storage, knowledge dissemination, and knowledge application. Besides that, the system model of CKMS has been translated into a system prototype by using groupware software (i.e: Lotus Notes) which is evaluated based on its usability, accessibility, reliability, and security in supporting the CoP to work collaboratively anywhere, anytime and at any platform whether through desktop or mobile computing environment

Emerging awareness of sustainability matters urge the people go for green computing as solution to the environmental problems. There were a lot of previous researches studied about hardware solution, and only few papers that focused on green software area. However, there is lacking of research that discusses about how to implement knowledge management method to manage the green knowledge of software development. As we know that software development is an important role in supporting the IT community, hence the unmanaged green knowledge of software development will lead to the problem of unable to meet both the environmental and business demands to the community. Therefore, this research will focus on proposing a model that applies web-based knowledge management system to manage and share the green knowledge of software development among the members of community of practice in software development environment

This systematic literature review (SLR) aims to identify the Knowledge Management (KM) Best Practice components in the KM Model proposal for Higher Learning Institutions (HLI) environment. The KM Best Practice components identified from this paper will be referring in the future study to verify the effectiveness of the components to be the best practice for KM. A SLR of KM Best Practice to identify and define the components of Best Practice from the KM models was conducted recently. 179 articles included in the literature review were extracted based on the exclusion criteria and only retained 71 related reviews. The review of published papers of conference and journals’ articles shows the components of Best Practice in KM are basically divided into two aspects which is the soft aspect and the hard aspect. The literature evidence the lacks of combination of these two aspects into an integrated model decelerate KM Best Practice to fully throttle in the organization. The scenario leads to the immaturity of the HLI towards the implementation of KM System. The first steps of identifying the attributes to measure the components from the models in the literature will led to the definition of the KM Best Practice component for the higher learning environment as concluded in this Systematic Literature Review

Knowledge’ is one of the main outcomes systematic approaches of software engineering. It is considered as a crucial resource of each organization and, therefore, needs to be managed carefully especially for the software development process and the roles involved in each phase. The effectiveness application of software engineering relies on experiences, and organizations need to capitalize on their experiences by capturing and reusing them. In all approaches of experience reuse, repositories play a central role in enhancing the knowledge in experience transfer of process knowledge between projects. Like in a factory beside the production there are the people who produce. Experiences should not be stored on a dusty shelf, but engineered into best practices and processes that could be guidance to all roles in the software project especially for the developer. This paper presents the approach to the implementation of the project knowledge based on software development life cycle. It also describe on how the knowledge factory solution can be used as a decision support system for software project managers in day-to-day development activities. The paper concludes with an evaluation of our approach to date and a description of future research directions

Maintenance plays an important role in the life cycle of a software product. It is estimated that there are more than 100 billion lines of code in production in the world. As much as 80% of it is unstructured, patched and not well documented. Maintenance can alleviate these problems. The purpose of this paper is to explore the use of the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) to improve the quality of software maintenance process (SMP). The architecture of the CMM model has been retained almost as is while its content, which was specific to the development process, has been either modified or extende d to take into account the characteristics specified to the maintenance function, these characteristics were th en organized into key process areas (KPAs) of CMM model. This paper applied the definition of (ISO 9241-1 1, 1998) that examines effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction. The emphasis will be given to the SMP activitie
